Fly Fishing the Korean DMZ (Demilitarized Zone)

Anyone who served in the DMZ and is also an angler cannot miss this story by the brilliant writer, photographer and fly guide James Card. Click on the pictures to see the full story. Visit Card's web site here. For Card on the status of wildlife in the 'Z, including fishing with hand grenades, visit this page.

In a way KorCon is glad we didn't know about these beautiful fish when serving in and around the DMZ; we would have been tempted to watch the water instead of keeping focused on the business at hand.

Got a DMZ Fishing or Hunting Story?

It seems Hollywood was on to something when they outfitted LTC Henry Blake with a hat full of lures in Mash (does KorCon remember correctly a similar character in the movie?)

We've heard stories about pheasant hunting in the DMZ as well. If you've got a DMZ hunting or fishing story, with or without pictures, please contact us at: producer (at) koreanconfidential (dot) com
